The Chi Coltrane's Christian commitment has quite often been a source of trouble, slander, gossip, contempt, scorn and even boycott for her...

I spotted many examples...

As an illustration of these "apparently unexplainable" facts, stand the two following German Rock Musik Lexikon bands by Christian Graf, which were released in 1989 ("Taurus Press" Editions).

The name of Chi Coltrane is practically never quoted in similar to music dedicated exhaustive encyclopedias where rather unknown artists, who released only one LP or even one single during their whole career, are nevertheless mentioned.

Just as an example among others, these above mentioned two ROCK MUSIK LEXIKON volumes:

— Collins, Judy — Coltrane, Chi? — Commander Cody —

 

Chi Coltrane's name should have been mentioned, on the left, between the first column end and the second on top between "Judy Collins" and "Commander Cody" respective names, listed on page 6 of the first volume table of contents.

As it is obviously proven on this page, her discography is nevertheless important.

Her name is in fact only quoted on page 1088 of the second volume final table of contents. (The number 227 is connected to the Biblical Rapture number 153. To understand more, see the explanation on my US page dedicated to number 153).

 

However, we note on the back side of the first volume, the presence of the "Ambrosia" group (left picture) whose member Joe Puerta had collaborated on her side as a musician. Noticeable on another part, "T-Bone Burnett", the name of one of her producers, both musician and christian (see picture below between Springfield and Spear names) is clearly quoted.

 

 

A "C" and a "ne" appear separately before "commander Cody" and after the "ns" of Judy Collins...

As a more obvious rough parody, involving her name, follows the case of "Saint John Coltrane", the well known jazzman or "Jesus-Christ reincarnated" !
